Heard complaints before about how the park is run, haven't been there personally so can't take sides there. Didn't read all 100+ pages , but looks chickenshit that they are charging 1 guy to replace it all when it was already damaged. At the same time, he should have reported the incident just to make sure he was following all park rules. HF did put on Facebook that this area was temporarily closed due to fence damage and high rollover risk in area. Not sure what the obstacle is there though, an what exactly is making it so bad.

Sounds like somebody needs to read the waiver we sign.

Not saying it was appropriate, but I personally have never read it.

I'm not going to read all their posts, I don't have that much time on my hands. However, where he is at, there's not a real obstacle. It's a little off camber, but nothing that is a challenge or big. Seems odd that they are charging so much for that small section. I guess if they hit enough folks, then they'll have enough to replace the entire fence. I do remember that fence being pretty poor along that side of the property for quite some time.

Either way, he should've reported it to the office after it happened and it might not have gotten so blown out of proportion. The old "shoulda, coulda, woulda".

Read a couple pages. Looks like they have pictures of previous damage to the fence that had not been repaired. Maybe the way the park handled it is the only way they have found works when tiring to get reimbursed for damage that you (I haven't read the waver either) states you will pay for and must report should it happen. Sounds like a big old mess ,don't like the rules don't go? Sounds like a bunch are going to find or go other places to wheel.

Found a cool web site while I was wasting my life reading about something that doesn't effect me in any way LOL.

I did find this:

Hidden Falls Adventure Park - Violation Fines

VIOLATION FINES
As of October 2011 we began giving fines for certain violations. If you receive a violation it must be paid within 10 days and
prior to being allowed back on park property. If you are an annual member and reiceive a violation you have 10 days to pay
the fine, otherwise your memberships will be suspended and you will be denied access to the park.

We encourage all guests to read park rules. Ignorance of these rules is no excuse. Our rules are printed on the back of
every trail map and are avail. on our web site. Our park is patrolled by Park Rangers and local law enforcement.

When you enter the park and sign in, guests agree to abide by the park rules and pay for any fines received. We do not
want you at our park if you can not or will not follow the rules. Charing fines will weed out these people quickly.

We typically give warnings to guests the first time a park rule or violation has been comitted for some park rules
depending on the offense such as speeding or helmet violations. After that we asses fines and remove or ban guests
from the park or involve law enforcement if the situation is serious enough.

Speeding Violation $ 100.00.00 (After 2 you are banned from park for 6 months)
Reckless Driving $100.00 (2nd violation results in being banned form park forever)
No helmet, Not Wearing Approved Helmet $ 50.00 (After 2 you are banned from park for 6 months)
Burning while under burn ban / Using Fireworks $ 500.00 (Guest is removed from property, banned for 6 months)
Disorderly Conduct including public intoxication - Law Enforcement is called and you are arrested, you are banned forever
Driving on trails after posted hours $50.00 (After 2 you are banned from park for 1 year)
Drinking alcohol while on trails as a driver or DUI - $ 100.00 (After 2 you are banned forever)
Disturbing the Peace - $ 50.00 (after 2 you are banned from park for 6 months)
Driving in restricted ponds - $ 100.00 (Banned from park for 6 months)
Use or possession of illegal drugs - Law Enforcement is called, Criminal Trespass issued and banned forever from park.
Unauthorized Hunting - Commericial Value of Animal, Game Warden is called, charges filed for poaching (State Jail Felony)
State Penal Code Violation, Federal Law Violation - Law Enforcement is called
Destruction of park property - Value of property damage, charges filed, law enforcement involvement.Unauthorized Park Entry - Law Enforcement is called, criminal trespass waring issued & charges for theft of services will
be filed. Banned from park. Period to be determined.

Park guest lets someone on property after hours wihtout checking in or paying fees. - Law Enforcement is called, criminal
trespass waring issued to guest who let unauthorized person in park gate, banned from park & charges for theft of
services will be filed on unauthorized guest.

BEING BANNED means you are not allowed on park property for any reason during the ban period. You can not participate
in any park activities. If you are caught on property while in a ban period you will be issued a criminal trespass warning
and assessed a fine of $500.00.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS means we do not want you on our property, you are not allowed on park property for any reason,
ever. If you are caught on the property you will be arrested and charged with criminal trespassing according to Texas laws.

Fines are payable to Hidden Falls and can be paid at the park office or mailed to 7030 E. FM 1431, Marble Falls, Texas
78654. Fines must be paid prior to being allowed back on the property.

Park Ranger Office (830) 798-9434 Park Office (830) 798-9820

You know I wouldn't have taken that to mean your going to pay to fix a fence that has been down for two years ... WoW was thinkin of getting a membership there guess I need to rethink that. They should of closed that part of the trail after the third truck rolled and took out the fence.

So, What do you pay the park fees for? I would think it insurance of some sort? Maybe use you FJ insurance to pay for the fence. I wasn't a big fan of the authority stuff I saw when I was there.

Wow, that was entertaining. Probably won't stop me from going, but it will make me watch my back while there. A bunch of drama that could have been avoided if the owner hadn't flipped out. It seems like the driver stepped up pretty quickly.

If it were my fence I would be mad if somebody hit it and didn't tell me. At the same time, if the fence already had a hole and bent over posts and whatnot I wouldn't blame it on the last guy.

Whatever, a lesson learned for everybody.

That's what I said.

The driver should have notified someone before he left. Probably an offer to fix it would have been sufficient. But still, the owner flipping out like that shows exactly what the real intention was

Charge them for damage done to the rig and call it even! Still sounds to me that they have both mishandled it in some way.Hope to hit this place up in a couple weeks, then at least be able to have a 1st hand view of how the place is run.

Shitty situation. Guy acted like a douche.

I feel for the ranch tho, we had some guy blow through a high fence the other day, leave the scene, and later get caught. His insurance company has not responded at all to our claim...

The repairs don't count my time / fuel / materials to go temporarily patch it.

Them questioning 45k a mile is complete BS. Labor here for game proof fence is approx $1.50 a foot plus materials. I would say an easy 18k a mile on flat ground. Closer to 20-21k if you need to rent a compressor and jackhammer to make holes for the posts in caliche. More $$ for cement to cement the posts. Crappy "t" posts are 10 bucks each.

ez way is to just call his insurance company, show prior damage pictures to the adjuster, usaa will then charge park betterment (75%)most allowed by law so park will get 500 bucks or so.also would use my insurance to fix my rig and subro against park as owner new in advance that there was unrepaired damages and roadway is unsafe but no warning signs posted. then to be an a hole file mental anguish claim for the above reason.

Sounds like that section needs a pipe railing to deflect driving into the fence. Literally, the park owner should have a "Come help me fix it, and wheel for free weekend".
Most of the trail repair and building is done for free on public lands. Bi-polar Jeff should ask for the same. He'll get better results.
