How would you build it?

Years back 4wheeloffroad mag built a cummins powered 4door Jk on 42s. In the real world people don't have the money to buy a new jeep and 1ton dodge then build that, so how would you build a 4door 6bt jeep? Can be a cj, yj, or tj, but something you could build at home. Not something I plan to build just thought it would make for fun conversion.

Cj's yj's and tj's never came 4door right? So you saying make one a 4door and then do the engine transplant?

I'd ditch the jeep thing all together and build off of a much stronger platform that's allready 4door like let's say an fj80. Then I'd add 1tons to handle the weight/power and try to make it look something like this...

X2, I'd throw the jeep idea out the window.

I would like to build my YJ into a 4 door, but think that it would probably be to long after I did that. I think that LJ length is pretty close to perfect, which i believe is right around 130". No matter what im going to stretch mine so I can get my boys in the back again.

Yes the big part of the build would be making a 4door tub.

There is a guy that stretched a willys tub over on pirate that turned out pretty sweet.

I would just get another tub and graft them together. It would be nice though if you could make a smaller back door to keep the overall length down.

I was thinking a cj7 to the rear of the front door then graph a cj5 tub for the back doors.

That sounds like it could work.

I would hit a gold mine of a jeep salvage yard not far from me and grab a destroyed Jk. Maybe back half ripped apart or vice versa. I'd tube what was missing.

I would run another BJ front 60 and I think I may change it up and try the sterling 10.25 just to be diff.

THEN, I would use a secret 04 common rail I have sittin in a secret location with trans and tcase. It would be one heck of a long drivetrain and no doubt have floor fitment issues. Then again I'd be tubin the rear half anyway so I could make it work.

I think I could do all this for far less than 10k then post it up for sale on here for an astronomical amount then get pissy when someone offers me a reasonable price. Lol

It's a gold mine I stumbled onto by accident while looking for injectors for an old Durango. I came up over a hill and the were jeeps galore stacked up, lined up, some had stickers still on from DfW off road clubs. Some had long arm kits still on em.

I thought holy smokes, mental note, never to reveal this location to anyone. Lol

I would try to go for a 4bt instead 6bt for size and weight. 4bt can still be built plenty stout.

I'd put a cummins in a 1977 k30 regular cab. Russet metallic and white two tone. Buckskin interior with bonanza trim.

If I was going to do a reg cab long bed I would just leave it in the truck that has it and bob the bed, add 49s, cage and sliders. Lol
