Kert DIY4X hooks me up with custom steering stablizer

Hi Y'all,

Just figured I show off what I just finished. Kert at DIY4X custom made the main bracket and the tabs for me to fit my D60 and ORD 1.5" Tie Rod after finding out that the Superlift 1 ton Chevy Dual Stabilizer kit is basically useless. It won't fit a D60. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves, but it works terrifically!

I know some will put down the stabilizers but I'm old school, classic. I like to have the stabilizers up front. I won't bore you with a build thread.

Thanks,

Manny

Next weekend, I'm tearing down the Dodge 208 to prepare for the rebuild.

they look a little weird...look they're pointing in towards the axle. Steering stabilizers were meant for the 80s and Yeeps. lol. Always liked your rig & followed your progress closely on ck5.

Nice stuff,

Aren't you afraid to damage your dampers while offroading?
I mean the first thing you gona hit is the dampers. I choosed to move my dampers up a bit, not so beautiful but more practical.

Nah,

I'll be okay. I'd rather have a ding on the dampener then a bent tie rod, although I cannot honestly say I can see bending that thing at 1.5" thick. Rarely do I hit obstacles under the MUD. Not saying it couldn't happen. I can rotate the assembly upward so that the shocks are above the tie rod, but I don't think that would look as good.

I do appreciate all the compliments. Even I didn't think it would turn out so good. Kert really outdid himself, didn't he?

Why yes, they are tucked in the middle a little. This is done on purpose. When straight travel, the center is as close to the tie rod as it will get. The ends are a little farther out so that when maximum turn right or left is applied, there is adequate clearance and insures no binding. Neat little idea I came up with, only because it's a custom application for the 1.5" tie rod.
