I just work on it when I can, which here lately hasn't been much. That way you don't get burned out!

#1 Z71 will become famous soon enough
I know how ya feel, I've had my 5 for almost a year now and I still have alot to do and this is the second time to build it. I'll say one thing though, no project is ever finished, you'll always want to change things or add on, but isn't that why we love wheelin' and trying new stuff? Building your rig up how you want it is part of the fun, it wouldn't be if all of us just paid to have it built imo. I've taken a month or so break from wrenchin' so I don't get too burned out and then when you start up again you become even more motivated. Now that I'm in college, I won't have as much time to build on mine, but Friday I'm getting the axle's under it so hopefully I'll be able to wheel then wrench some more then repeat, that way I can still enjoy it even when it's not completely "finished".

animator just gettin started
Started to feel kinda burned out toward the end of my axle swap on my truck. It was at the point where I hated seeing it on jack stands, but didn't feel like doing anything to it. I seriously conisered paying someone to come out and finish the job for me... but then I know how that would have made me feel...

So toward the end, I kinda got to rushing things, and now that it's finished and I've been driving it as a DD, all the things that I rushed, I now want to go back and do them better, because I know I can. Now I just gotta find the time to do it...

Sometimes you just need a brake. I got a point where I needed some money for parts so I'm taking a brake untill they come in. Witch will be this week sometime.

I'm just gonna go steal Rusty when I get ready to wheel again. I have also been thinking about buying a Radio Controlled RockCrawler to keep me entertained for the time being. I think the dogs would enjoy it also. I could exercise them without me exercising.

When your son starts driving and you are working on his truck all the time, then tell me about motivation. I have a 71 Plymouth Duster that hasn't left the driveway in over a year. All it need is the seat bolted back in and the carb touched up a bit. My son bought a 79 K5 and we have been working on it alot. I bought a 91 so we could wheel together. Between his truck buildup and mine, to kinda keep up so that I can unstick him, my previous pride and joy just rots away. I changed jobs a year or so ago and no one at my new job is into Mopars or drag racing. I have a hobby and nobody to enjoy it with me. I have concentrated my efforts and money into another hobby so my old one is wasting away. At this point I wish someone would drive by my house and offer me 4 grand for my Duster so I don't have to look at it any more. I've got more than that in the motor alone. I can't bring myself to put it on Ebay, but nor can I justify spending any more time or money on it.
I'm Beat and Broke.

Yea I was just having one of the worst days of my life and was about to just say pooey on eveything that was pulling me in different directions. I have been back over working on it and will be at the shop all weekend. I went over on Wednesday night and had a jackstand fall and crush my hand. If you hold up your hand and make a L with your thumb and pointy finger you will have a flap of skin that kind of makes a web. I did a pretty good job of cutting that off. So now I am working with a gimpy hand. It has been a blast this week. But I am getting down to very minor stuff to have it finished. JJ
