Lift or no lift?

Greetings from Guam!

So Saturday before I flew out the wifey and I went to the stealership to submit the order and deposit for her 10th anniversary Rubicon Unlimited. Upon delivery we will have a large 1st anniversary as well as a stock 10th both in white.....how sweet. The question is will she allow me to lift it or not? Or will it remain stock until she tires of it and gives it to me?

Just curious what the general opinion is as i am clueless. Still kinda surprised she wants to trade off the Sequoia for a Jeep.

So the reason I am asking this question is because it looks as though some of you might be married. In addition it looks as though some of your wives might drive 4x4's. I have in 15 years not had to deal with this, so am wondering what y'all's exp might have been? I was always brought up with the idea that the only stupid question was the one you didn't ask.

My wife drives a 2009 four door rubicon lifted with 35 inch trail grapplers to work everyday. She loves it but her sister drove it on a road trip and she was wore out after a hour of driving it. Just remember that jeeps aren't the most comfortable vehicles when they are stock, add a lift and some bigger tires and the comfort goes way down. Also I don't know about the new engines but the 3.8 is way underpowered for a lifted four door.

I lifted my wife's daily driver(among a few other mods) and now she doesnt drive it. Sorry I'm not more help. Almost everything I own has a mod or 20. Plus it's going to be hard for us to guess what your wife likes and doesn't like.

I would say put 35s, wider wheels and new fender flares and throw on it. Give it a cool stance. Those new jeeps will take bigger tires with no lift. Then it's not as top heavy and still looks good and if she wants a lift then you can do it. Lifts for those aren't very high I don't think.

Where is the voting option for - I want to lift it, if she doesn't like it I'll find a new girlfriend that does?

lift it, I went wheeling with a stock 4 door rubicon a few weeks ago and we had to drag him quite a bit. like TC said, it doesn't have to be a bunch, 2-4 inches with some 35's or so makes a world of difference.

Thanks for the replies. I think she will lean towards the lift pretty quick with the height change in vehicles, sequoia to JK. We shall see.

We picked it up on Saturday and spent the rest of the weekend getting it broke in. Don't much care for them wheels, oh well not my ride!

Funky hood only has two 1" holes attached to the bottom of the vents?? Must want it to stay hot in there.

3.5" lift and 37s is perfect. My wife drives the jeep daily. Drops kids off, work, lunch, picks kids up, and home. She loves it!
