Military Tires wont mount

Well sorta, Took the 37 military tires up to a shop today with a set of rims and they couldnt get the bead to seat. Any tips? I dont have a cheetah bead seater and I dont want to buy one. Took em to discount but they wouldnt mess with em because of the age. Any tips?

use a rachet strap in the center of the tread and suck it down it makes the beads spread further and use dish soap and water as lube and lube the wheel also. little discount tire trick.

its the 37" goodyear wranglers. The good ole starting fluid on the rim and light it up worked for the first one but I dont know if i have the fortitude to do it on the rest. BTw ratchet strap barely makes these budge

use two straps with the ratchets on opposite sides of the tire (and use the big yellow straps and not the chinchy buy 4 for $5 Wally World crap)

I took mine to a little hole in the wall place down in dallas and they had one of those machines that put them on no problem. That my suggestion.

just curious where you have tried at?
the place where my shop is; is a tire shop, but they are closed today i believe.
how about mcwhorter's?
did they use the old style coats machine that blows the air from the bottom while you hold the bead against the outside rim?
a tire machine is one of the tools i want for my shop.

Jeff,
Tired crest and discount. Was the only two places I could go. Discount said they tires were too old.. I think they just didnt wanna mess with em. Crest tried using a cheeata to get it to seat but It wouldnt work. Think that tire shop by your shop can do it?

Its a place on the corner of maple and lucas in downtown dallas. I dont know the name of it but it cost me 50bucks to get them mounted and balanced. That where i alwyas take my tires to get patched too. They charge 5 bucks and its done in 15 minutes while you wait.

i have heard that the chemicals in the starting fluid will eat your tires from the inside out.
