Nitrogen Regulator

What are you guys using for regulators for filling shocks? Does it need to be a regulator specifically for nitrogen or can it be any regulator? Just trying to figure out what I need to get to fill my shocks.

Are you buying the rest of the nitrogen setup to go with it?

I am renting a tank because all the small ones I have to buy and they are like $145 on the low end. I was just wondering if there was a lower cost alternative to the Nitrogen regulators that I have found. The cheapest nitrogen regulator that I have found is $120. I don't mind spending the money if that is what I have to have, I just want to make sure I am not wasting money.

My regulator was $129 or thereabouts, tank was $100 or so IIRC, and seems the hose was around $40. there are still a couple of accessories I would like to get for it. I want a easier way to check pressure in my shocks.

The Poly Performance one is a little bit cheaper but after shipping it would probably be about the same. Plus it only goes to 450 psi and the one I am looking at goes to 500 I think.

do you really think you need to able to put 500 psi in air shocks?
i think the most i've ever put in was about 150 psi.
currently i run 80 psi in my rears. yeah im light but that's also with 6" up travel.

I don't think I will have to go that high but I would like to be able to if I need to. My rig is a little on the heavy side.

Their tanks are 'cheap' too if you wanted to OWN one. Plus they have that fill adapter too.

I took an old reg I had from a mig, took the cfm gauge off and put a psi gauge, took the adjustment knob out and just put a bolt in it's place to get more throw on the reg itself. It's alittle sensitive when you adjust it, other than that we've been using it for a few years now with no problems, cost about $30 total. Rednecks don't just live down south.
