Quality engine rebuilder : DFW area
Greetings ladies and gents,
I'm considering rebuilding or replacing the 360 in my Ramcharger and if I'm going to do this I want it done right by someone with a solid reputation for quality work. I've heard good things about Jasper ,but I'm not sure I want to spend over $5,000 on the engine when I'm trying to spread money around elsewhere (axles, suspension, tires, cooling system, general mechanical restoration, etc) and its not a "money is no object" build. Not even close!
I'm not looking for anything radical. A mostly basic rebuild except for an RV-type cam for torque, perhaps some oiling improvements and possibly a TBI conversion from a company like Howell to improve driveability and economy a bit (yes, I know its a tank and true economy is a pipe dream),though I may stick with a carburetor for cost reasons. This truck will be driven on the street somewhat regularly ,sometimes pulling a travel trailer or small boat and will be a moderate offroad vehicle.
Can anyone recommend a reputable builder to look into in the DFW area?
Thanks in advance
