Question on tires and wheels

We traded in our Tahoe and got a 2011 Chevy Silverado Texas Edition 4x4. I don't believe it has any lift on it, but it came with Goodyear street tires. The rims are 20" rims. I want to save up and get some tires for muddin as well as highway running. Don't want all out mudgrips as they would wear down too quick, don't want excessive road noise, but do want them to work well on road, mud, and the occasional west Texas snow, as well as look good on the truck. I have always preferred BF Goodrich AT, but is there any tire that would be a bit more aggressive and still fit with the above criteria? I've looked at Irok online but haven't found any better specs that tell if they'll do fine on road. Can ya'll give me some ideas on tires and if needed wheels that I might look at?

Thanks in advance for any advice...

Nitto trail grapplers. The wife has over 30000 miles on hers and still has plenty of tread left.

Nittos, or Toyos. I've got Toyos on my F150 right now and also had them on my Trailblazer before we sold it.

I have heard good things about the Toyo Open County M/T. Not the most aggressive looking but quite, wears good and has some bite. They are what I'm going to put on my crew cab when I finally finish it.

Those toyos look pretty damn close to the nittos.
My nitto trail graplers are wearing awesome. Noisy and require frequent rotation but satisfy all other requirement.s

i have a 2.5 inch level kit on my 09 with 33x12.5x18 toyo mts. they have 46k on em and i rotate them religiously (every oil change). i recently replaced my struts which were causing premature wear on my front tires which obijuan kindly pointed out.

they should last me 60k or so...but next tires im getting are nitto trail grapplers. if they can take obijuans stupid heavy 3/4 ton cummins and wear evenly, then they will do the trick for me. i have heard nothing but GOOD about them.

but they are loud, especially when i first got em. duratracs might be best for you

word of advice though.........dont mud your daily driver. occasional dirt road to get to the deer lease or somethin like that, go right ahead but dont actively go look for mud. i wish i would have never mudded my street queen. buy a beater and tear it up.

Another vote for the nitto trail grapplers. I had a 35"R20 set in load range E on my 2010 tundra and after about 15k miles they are/were still holding strong. (I traded it in)

Road noise wasnt too bad as well.

I'm also running the trail grapplers in. 35/12.50/20 load range E. 27k miles so far and they will probably see another 25k at least.

Ran the goodyear MTR's before this set and got 48k miles before I took them off. Good tires as well but were harder to keep balanced.

Falken tires are very known to not be round. Accelerated wear compared to others similar. I can compare the wear to thorn birds. This was a year and a half ago, though when I mounted these. My nittos took less weight and measured rounder than little baby car Michelin.

Nittos are some damn good tires.
