RZR 900 4 or 4dr Wrangler?
I want to get something I can use on the trails to take my GF and 3 kids wheeling. I have really been wanting a Polaris RZR 4 seater, but a used 4dr Jeep is relatively the same price...
What would yall do?

You could built a buggy to fit everyone for that price I would think? But I would go with the jeep, still can drive it on the street.

I would still keep my big Samurai for the hard stuff, this is just for my GF and the kids to use at the park. I would still probably like to throw some tons under it and 37s. Just enough for maybe some #4 trails as I wouldn't want them with me for big climbs anyway.
I do agree the Jeep would be nicer... and streetable is just a plus. I may want to take it to work one day. LOL ![]()

1ton swap in the newer jeeps are tricky with all the sensors, upgraded factory D44s hold up great to 37s.

The Abs, traction control, more I'm sure. Since the time I had a jk they prob figured it out by now.

With out the front and rear wheel speed sensors you'll dash will look like this all of the time:
![]() Granted the jeep will still function by turning off the front abs and vehicle ESC, but the rear can still act up until the PCM figures out that there are no signals from the rear. The part that really sucks is you can delete the ABS/ESC from the PCM, so you get stuck with the Xmas tree dash. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App

I vote jeep. It's nice to have something street worthy and they will love driving/riding in it.

I vote Jeep, my wife just got a 4door and so I have been driving it a little and it is a pretty sweet ride. Not my SWB but really nice and lots of interior room.

I do believe there is a way around it, give me a couple and I will find out. I vaguely remember some sort of kit with sensor's that you could put on the drive line up near the t-case to fool the computer.

Likely true...I have less in both the buggy and jeep than a 4 seat rzr runs new.

My GF is down for either, but says the Jeep is more practical because we can use it on the street... I dont mind lights on the dash, as long as I can pull the bulbs out, my only concern is not having ABS if we need it.
Just out of curiosity, what would it get for mileage on 37s? I did some research on the sensors, and they do make hubs and rotors that use tone rings and a ring gear sensor I believe to make it all work on a 60/14 setup, but its $2+K plus axles and everything else...

I average around 12mpg running 37" KM2s with 5.38s, viper TB and a supercharger. I got better mileage running 35s with the stock 4.10s and no supercharger, but then again I have an auto. So my advice would be get a manual and run 4.88s or 5.13s if you put in some 37s. There are several ways to do 1 ton swaps into a JK and retain the wheel speed sensors. Biggest thing is making sure you have the same number of teeth on both axles. Dynatrac make a kit for around $80 per axle that just requires a little hub machining. Currie and river raiser also make kits, but last I checked they were über expensive. Solid also makes a front kit that works with their spyntec hub conversion. The easiest, in my opinion, is just get a set of newer ford tons and use the abs that is already on them. My current plan is to use the stock front sensors on my super 60 w/ branik 8 x 6.5 drilled unit bearing then get dynatracs kit for a rear 14 bolt. Another option would just be to get a sterling rear if I wanted to keep the 8 x 170mm lug pattern. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App

Telling you my friend the new rubicon d44s with upgraded shafts will handle 37s no prob and is a bolt in deal. Hell there's lots of guys running the rvc shafts and 40s.
