Exclamation Scatter sheilds

Figured i would bring up this subject as a few people have not heard of them/never thought about it. A scatter sheild is a plate that saves you feet in the event of a flex plate/fly wheel shattering. These are typically only used in high horsepower/racing applications but in my opinion they are cheap insurance for body parts. I will have one on the ford even though its an automatic. There are some scary videos of what a fly wheel exploding can do.

Those blankets can be a life saver as well. Idk about any rock crawling/racing bodies that require them but NHRA does in some cases.

What are these people doing that fail at burnouts. I'm sure y'all have seen the yellow Corvette one, smokes his clutch instead of tires.

The scater shield just helps keep all the broken parts out of the inside of the vehicle and out of your body. It doesnt help the clutch grab any harder. Have I ever know anyone that has exploded a clutch or flex plate on the trail? No. Could it happen sure. I had a close call myself but that was in my Mustang. Dustin_mud may remember seeing what was left of the clutch. The pieces put some rather large gouges in the bellhousing and actually cracked it.
