shaving axles?

is it worth the effort on a front D44 and a 12 bolt? How much would I gain by doing it?

in my opinion it isn;t worth it but it is up to you. depending on how you shave it you can gain around an inch more clearance.

I don't think you gain that much clearance, but it could help to round that lip off.

Yep, just wheel it!

Shaving only gives a little clearance, maybe an inch or so.

It's only really worth it if you have a bulky drain plug, or your whole axle is huge (14B).

If I ever get around to building mine up I plan to just let the rocks and ledges shave them for me!

Ya`ll say just an inch like its no big deal. You would probably hafta go 4 inches bigger in tire size to gain an inch at the axle. Plus its not a long term project,it can be done without removing the axle. I say go for it!

i don't see why not grinding it down ot cutting alittle to make it slide off the rock easier, but i wouldn't go to the point of tearing down the axles to create a new look!!

wheel it.
