Anybody using a Synergy tilt column. If so where did you put the u-joint in line to the orbital?

Even if ya'll don't run this column let me know if this sounds logical, i'm not thinking too straight lately, don't want to do this twice....

Little info, the orbital will be around 3 foot from the dash, i'm guessing i need to hard mount the 3/4 shaft to the orbital, brace the top about a foot from the tilt column with a 3/4 heim then put the u-joint..or should i get the u-joint as close to the tilt as possable? any flaws I might be missing, let me know..L

Landis, not sure what you mean by "close to the pivot" but I'd think the ujoint would need to be near the bolt in the corner of the box (is that what you're saying?). Guessing you want the adjustability so Sally can have her height too?

Exactly, close as possible to the pivot bolt, ya, I need it for Sally, she likes the wheel down low and close, I like it high and away, there will be plenty of adjustments on the seats to accommodate both of us, and the wheel release will make it easier to get my butt in and out, thanks for that, now on to the dash, looks like even that calls for small design changes, but it's keeping me busy....L

Ha yeah, I've come to the conclusion that it's pointless to try to plan 2 steps ahead because nothing goes as planned. So making a plan based on your current plan is a waste of brain effort.

My son is back with his Mom so I will be hitting the shop hard for the next couple months. Got the engine caged in, the rear seat bar and a couple bracing bars in this weekend. Had to order tabs and need more tube so I'll have to find something else other than tube work to do till I get it. Maybe start on the dash and floors till then.
