Toyo MT's

Anyone have any experience wheeling with the 40" Toyo MT's? They are a load range c instead of e like most of their other tires, so I'm curious how much better they flex. Looking at getting a set for my rig as I want some street friendly tires that still perform well offroad as well.

They have so much rubber on the shoulder that they don't flex like a bias, but do ok. Meh.

Damn that sucks.. Not a whole lot of options for road/highway friendly and good trail tires. How would you compare them to say a 40" MTR? I was hoping that they were a little softer and more flexible being they were a C and not an E.

They are just thick *** tires. Mtr and procomp mt2 aren't bad choices at all.

I was actually reading about both the Nittos and the pro comps today. Heard mixed reviews on the pro comps though. Also found from others that unlike most brands they run up to size or actually a little over.

What about a 42" MTR? Buddy has them on his f150 truggy and they're a bad a$s set of tires.

Forgot about the nittos. Those are excellent.

I don't want to step up to a 42" due to wheelbase on my rig. Plus, and I may be wrong, most of the 42's start stepping into a fairly wide tire, and I want to stay 12.5-13.5" range.

I just bought a set of the 40" nitto trail grapplers since I wanted to get away from a bias tire and have something that's more street friendly since the truck I'm building will see lots of highway. The Nittos are beefy looking with some serious sidewall rubber so I'm not so sure how well they'll flex even with a C rating. Sorry I don't have any other real wheeling experience on them yet since I'm still building the truck... Discount tire direct had a helluva deal last month though... Bought 4 for $1680 shipped to my house.

I've seen pictures of those Nitto's flexing pretty damn well on a JK, guess these are another option.
Matt, you've worked both places, just for grins, how does Discounts warranty compare in relation to 4wp??

discount really doesnt want to warranty offroad. its manager discretion. its "road hazard" and in the fine print. 4 wheel parts does not care how YOU did it as the original purchaser. however there is proration at 4wp whereas discount is for the full tread life. but for a nitto on a wheelin rig, the tires would likely reach the 10 year mark before the tread is dead.
