What is the best 40" tire?

Been awhile sense I seen a thread on the best tire to run. Lots more on the market now. So my question is; what is the best tire to run for Texas wheeling?

On my Blazer I was running 44" TSL and love them, I had always planned on grooving them, but I just never needed to. I don't know if they did as good as they did because I'm just a kick-*** driver, or because the Blazer was so heavy. I also knew I was big and heavy so I always played with the three try rule, and would go around.
My new rig has Red Label BFG's on it. I know they will be a good tire to run, but I go wheeling a lot and I hear they ware real fast, and I really don't what to have to by tires to often.
My favorite tire was a 38" grooved TSL SX. It was night and day when I grooved those babies, but I would like something in a 40" tire this time.

Thoughts?

42 tsl sx are now available but a lot depends on wheeling terrain, mud is a bogger, tsl good combo tire and creepy crawlers and red labels good for rock imo

Id say ur krawler's are the best on the markets right now. Second I-Rocks Third or grooved tsl's. Most of the old tires are just to hard of a compound now. Compeard to whats on the market now.
there some other soft compound tire out now but they are close to krawlers prices.

My Krawlers are only 37", plus they are still brand new right now. I do plan on going to K-Rocks a couple times a year, so a new sx might be in order. I hadn't heard about the 41" tire.

i love my 42" iroks. broken in they are a little smaller.
i'd keep the krawlers for the rock stuff and put on a different set of tires or places like gilmer. sx's seem to be a good all around tire though as well.

I have heard nothing but good stuff about the krawlers, I just think they might ware out really fast.
Anybody running th 40" LTB? I know a lot of people like the 47" LTB, but is that just the size or how well they do?

The reds wear out fast if your a heavy throttle jockey who likes to see smoke. I've ran my last set of reds for almost 3.5 years with no problems and still had about 1/4 tread left. If you want to step up to the big reds lemme know, I know this guy who competes

Well, if they last that long I'll just run them, 40" isn't that much bigger.

, I think the 38" SX is a good tire. If I had the money I would have a set of Reds, and a 38" TSL SX......depending on where I was going.

I wouldn't go around telling everybody I only had 2"

Under the diff. it would only give me an extra 1" of clearance. Plus, I really hate breaking down beadlocks.

Jonas, if I do go to the 40" tire, we might work out a deal on these krawlers.
