This was a fishing tournament sponsored by Southwest Airlines to benefit The Ronald McDonald house. Ultimately raised $10K for the House.

We got hooked up to it by a friend of our crew who works for SWA. Two nights they had 10 kegs of free . The day after the tournament we had a fish fry of the catch.

The tournament was to catch Dolphin and Kings. We didn't do so well on that but caught a 9'8" hammerhead.

Had a blast. The kingfish weren't big enough for the tournament, but were keepers. We turned them over to the hotel so we had lots of fish for lunch and dinner Thursday.

We took a water taxi around the channels and looked at expensive houses and yachts. Amazing how much money some people have.

In the pic below, the the lot cost $11M, the house cost $8M and the yacht cost $10M. Some of the properties cost the owner $40K PER MONTH in taxes.

Nice fish. Did you guys place with a Shark, or was it strictly Dolphin and Kingfish?

Glad to see some other offshore anglers in here. I'll post up some pics of a few past trips if I ever get around to uploading them from the camera.

I wouldn't call myself an offshore angler. It was a fund raiser tournament that I got a hookup on. A lot of fun and I'll be happy to go again next year if I have a chance. The shark drew a lot of attention at the dock but we didn't win anything for it, just Dolphin and Kings. Here's me reeling i my first King.
