Good Stink Bait?

Does anyone have a good stink bait recipe they are willing to share?

Im going fishing this weekend & usually use 6"-8" long waterdogs as bait, but for some reason i cant find any locally. Worms & minnows are mostly worthless to me....

Ill be fishing for catfish & bass.

Any help filling up the skillet on this trip is appreciated.

Ill be sure to post up pics when i get home too.

Good luck! I'm ready to go, but we've had another tragedy here at the house. Wife's grandmother passed last night, very unexpectedly.

Mom has told me I can't plan any more trips. This is two in a row that've gotten put off because of a death in the family. My Granny was last back in July...

Where you going fishing at?

The best stinkbait for cats is usually sour grain, but it'll take much longer to make than you've got. You can use it for chum, but also soak just about anything in it for a couple days to pick up the stink.

Chicken liver works great for cats, and doesn't stink nearly as badly. That'd be my suggestion...

We use a couple different ones. A product called Hog Balls and Bills Brains and Cheese, that crap stinks! I've also used shrimp that has set out in the sun for a day and put it in a mesh bag with a weight to hold it on the bottom to help bring the cats in.

Soured wheat to chum with to bring them in and keep them in the area. It only takes two day's to make in a bucket if you add some to kick start the process.

For the bait I use either danny kings or O'brileys on a #6 or 8 trebble hook. The frozen box's of TV bait shrimp work in a pinch.

...heck, good old hot dogs work just fine, and if YOU get hungry, ya just eat your bait....

Danny Kings is probably some of the best stink bait you can get thats already prepared that I have found and it stays on the hook really good! Also if you have a cast net live shad or even frozen shad work great for cats! And with the live shad there is no telling what you will catch! Anyways Good Luck!
