electrician in houston

Anyone know a electrician in houston that could create a 240 volt plug at my breaker box? I think it should be a pretty easy job.

What are you going to run on it? It's easy just need to know what you intend on doing with it. Drier, etc.

Looks pretty full but you can remove the bottom 4 breakers and replace with new ones. You will need two more like the one space 6 also they have some new ones that are side by side. Then you will need to get another like the one in space 13,15. You will need to check the compressor to see what amperage it is but most are less than 20 amps. If that is the case then get a roll of 12/2 romex cable (they sell 25' to 250' rolls) and the breakers and you will be set. run the bare wire to the ground/neutral bar and the black and white to the two screws on the breaker and your done.

Now if you want to get real creative I would install a sub panel to create more space for down the road. I cant tell from the picture what the main is can you tell me.

This all seems pretty understandable.... thanks... I am just not sure if i am up to playing with it vs getting a professional to do it.. Last thing i want is to burn down my house or shock the crap out of myself.... Wonder how much something like this would cost... Just to put a 220v plug right under the breaker box...

Thanks,

Grant

If you are worried about getting a shock all you have to do is turn off the top breaker(marked main) and it will turn everything off below that point. Be sure to check it with a voltmeter though. I know my company has a two hour minimum at 87.50 pr hour. But that is a dallas price and not sure about down there.

Or you could just run a leg off one of your breakers you hardly use like a drier or stove to run it to a plug out the breaker box. Simple easy and cheap. The changes or running the drier and compressor at same time is slim to none.
