interior facelift EDITED: LOTS OF PICS

Well I finally got all the prep work done and for the past 2 days have been putting down coats of por 15 getting everything seeled off to prevent any future rust from forming on the floor, and getting it ready to spray in some bedliner. (Man I love this por15 stuff since it cures in humidity so well, and since I live south of houston its so humid all the time I cant get anything to cure correctly.) Along with a few 1" square pieces of fiberglass cloth to cover up the 2 rust holes the thickness of a pencil that actually did put a hole in the floor. And I also picked up a set of extremely good condition buckets out of an early 90s dsm talon for 75 bucks. The width of the brackets are dead on but the lenth is about 7 inch difference so I will be making some brackets to shorten the base and rase the seat up a little bit to correct seat height. AND I totally scored a set of 4" lift front leaf springs for 25 BUCKS. Today leaf springs..........tomorrow a dana 60...........lol. Well thats it for now, does anybody know of a web site lets me host pictures for free so I can post them up here? Oh yeah I have a 91 fullsize blazer with a 6.0/4l80e swap.

Let me know what you guys think so far.

Remington

I would love to join up here to host all my pictures, but I am another one of those poor college students trying to squeeze a dollar out of a dime. I will be upgrading in the future, but not sure when as of now. I will be posting up pics soon of my progress......dang I am getting excited about this.

Thanks for the comments, yeah it has a few small mods so far. Port and polish throttle body, shift kit, descreened maf, homemade cold air intake, z06 cam and springs, and I'm working on getting a set of 1 3/4" primary long tube headers. I think with a tune, the headers should bump me up very close if not over the 400rwhp mark. I am not sure but I will be painting it this coming spring. I want to pain it either red and keep the black trim, or white with a pearl tint and bust out some chrome trim. Leaning towards the red but still not final. Again thanks for the comments guys.

Regards,
Remington

Haha, if I do decide to play in the mud when I am finished with it, I will definitely post up some pics. But then again, its going to be really hard to do that after all the work I put into it. But it seems again that plans have changed as far as my trucks outlook is concerned and the road is starting to form a strangely exciting path. I have now pretty much decided that I will also be swapping interior and electrical into my blazer as well. I want to do this basically for the simple solution factor. Instead of buying all aftermarket gauges, redoing all the wiring to integrate systems, lighting, fuel system, and all the little stuff I want to redo, I will just be taking all the interior electronics from a newer 02 denalli, and swapping it all into my truck. I am talking about the dash, factory gauge cluster, newer a/c, heat, defrost, power windows & locks, newer door panels, newer firewall grafted into position to replace old firewall, radio, steering collumn, turnsignals and all. EVERYTHING. Basically I will be working towards a 02 2500 silverado crammed inside a 91 k5 blazer. Let me know what you guys' thoughts are.

I've seen that done before to an older truck than yours and personally I don't think it looks good at all. I would stick with your stock interior or do the aftermarket gauges in a custom panel to fit your existing dash. Just my .02 worth.

Yeah I have thought about that alot too. Of course it isnt going to be a hack job. I plan on taking out ALL of my existing dash, cutting the dash support out, and also replacing the firewall with the firewall of a newer pickup. Once I have that done, the dash and all will bolt right up. I am mainly doing it for the creature comfort stuff since its my daily driver. Stuff like a/c, heat, defrost, keyless entry, radio, all the gauges(and I wont have to pay over $300 bucks for autometer, just $50 for the cluster and Im done), power windows & locks, overhead console. The main reason is the wiring bs I have to go through to integrate the two systems together. I basically have to rewire the factory 6.0 wiring harness, because the factory looks like crap, trace down and eliminate any unneccesary wiring in the truck harness, splice all the ignition wires and everything else together. Which does take some time unless I were to memorize a few hundred different color codes.......And if I were to sell the truck in the future, the person that buys it from me wont know what the hell they are looking at, and neither will any mechanic. IMO So I figured a good solution to this, and probably the one with the most benefits is the whole interior swap. Because if I get sick of working on it or heaven forbid sell it, I or the guy or gal who buys it can take it up to podunk chevy and tell them to diagnose the problem for a 2001 chevy 2500 with yadayadayada package. Thats my reasoning/vent for this saga of "the money pit". I do wish there were some other way, but all the junk yards around me have crushed the older style chevy cars and trucks and now I am out of luck as far as parts go, and this just seems like the more economical approach to things at this point.
