Just an idea i want to get opinions on

I have recently been given a roll bar out of a toyota pickup. I myself have an 86 K5 blazer so here is where it gets kind of strange. When i am out wheeling i like to get the top off but the sun gets to be pretty rough inside the truck and my kids love riding with me. Therefore what i am thinkin is if i mount the roll bar inside the truck backwards with the hoop at the rear window (Yes i have measured and it will fit with the top on) i was thinking i could run a tarp or something from the half cab over the roll bar hoop at the rear effectivly making a "bikini top" for the blazer. What do you guys think and do you think it will work?

I personally would not put anything Yota in my K5 but that's just me. I'm build a family cage in mine and will run a bikini top to protect the kids from the sun. My top will fit over the cage but want to also enjoy the fresh air.

Thats my point LOL the cage is not made BY toyota it is an aftermarket that will fit in the smaller truckes I.E. toyota ford ranger etc. I do not have the funds to even attempt to cage the blazer all i am looking for is, as you said, a way to shield my little ones from the sun and still enjoy the fresh air considering the AC needs some work and with the blazer being black it is not the coolest vehicle to wheel in in the south texas heat

If you buy the parts I'd be willing to provide the know how and labor for your A/C problems and I have access to a bender, and notcher if want to build something for your rig.

All i am short for the AC is the tools. I have the gauges but no vacuum pump to suck it down and check for leaks which i know it has somewhere. On the other hand the bender, notcher and know how may dig you in a deeper hole than you wanna be in LOL. I would like to build a nice bumper and a decent passanger cage for the thing LOL I would surely provide the parts and though hehehehe

NEVER sold the k5 for a yota. Bought the yota and had it about a week and traded it for a k5 on 1 tons.

Cory, since you left them locked up in my shop....lol Possession is 9/10's of the law.....
