New seats/ seat mounts

Decided to give the jeep a little love. Bought these seats a little while back and they've been sitting in my shop collecting dust. Military Surplus Mastercraft seats for an MRAP vehicle if I'm not mistaken.

Anyways... Old seats had seen better days. They are Bestop Aqua neoprene seats that pretty much suck as they only lasted about 6 months before the neoprene had holes and the top layer started peeling off. Hence the covers. They too had seen alot of abuse.

Clean slate ready for new seat mounts as the mastercrafts wouldn't fit the stock frames and even if they did they would be too tall.

Bent some tube... 1" pipe actually...

Plates that sandwich the tub and bolt to the rocker guards.

Getting closer

Tabs for the seat to bolt to.

Welded and primed.

Painted and installed

And.... All done.

Pretty damn comfy after this weekends little trip I must say.

Thanks guys. I'm happy with the outcome since they make alot more space in the jeep and give me another two inches of room between my noggin and the cage. I wish I would have listened to everybody else and bought some decent seats long ago...

Got the seats from a guy in Oklahoma that bought 16 at a .gov auction. They were brand new in the box with 5pt harnesses still. Waaaay cheaper than buying them through Mastercraft and I'm not sure if they sell these to anybody but the gov but I may be wrong.
