Pickup Rear Window

I am installing new rear window weatherstip on an 84 k10. The window is a sliding one and the weatherstrip is the one without trim. Do I install the weatherstrip on the window and then put in the cab?Or put the weatherstrip in the cab and then put the window in place?

Thanks in advance

rubber on the window first, then use a strand of #12 wire to mount it in the hole. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're doin...

Here are pictures of what I am dealing with. I am doing the front window as well. Any tips on how to remove the old gasket/seal from the front and rear window frame?

I use a razor blade to remove the old sealer.

gasket goes in first. there is a lock strip that needs to be removed from the gasket if your using the old one.

install the gasket in the window frame without the lock strip.

put and small rope or heavy string in the gasket window track, spray soapy water on gasket.then hold window up to opening.

start with lower corner and pull rope to pull gasket around window,as it comes around make sure to keep window pushed and seated in gasket as your pulling the rope.

after the window is all seated install the locking strip.

good luck!
