poly body mount bushing

I'm installing poly body mount bushings on a 84 chevy truck. My question is do I reuse the metal bushing at the top between the body and frame mount? or do i just put the poly bushing between the body and the frame?

You need to use the metal or you'll crush the bushings. You're going to find that the poly bushings for our trucks are going to ride very hard. I was going to do poly, but after much research, I found too many hated compared to liked, and so I went with the rubber kit from LMC which gives you all new hardware, including the metal parts.
