Rust

I'm trying to restore my chevy p/u and the other day I took the door and weatherstrip out....low and behold there's rust, not a lot of it but in one place it rusted through the metal. I don't know what the best fix would be since it is part of the cab/roof in the the top of the door jamb. Do I bondo, run a bead, ? I'm new to this and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

there are alot of variables. Big hole, can you clean it all out, can you run oxy/ace torch..etc?

The metal around the hole is probably too thin to run a bead through. You are better off cutting it out, and replacing it.

Find someone that is pretty good with a mig and has some small wire to burn a bead in it. I have welded stuff like that with a stick before, and it 100% brought the suck. It did turn out nice though, but took a few minutes to get the heat just right. Are there any wires running behind the metal would be something to look into before you crank it up.
