Question Tube Doors and Pillars

I rolled my burban at Muddy Gras last weekend and messed up my B pillars.

I want to put some tubed doors on it when I tear it down, and thought I would just put in a basic cage to repalce the pillars for now, but I don't have any fab equipment to make them. I think that the muffler shop up the roadwill bend them and weld them together for me, but I don't know what size tubing to use, or what problems I'm getting ready to cause myself.

Before I get out in the yard in a bad mood and I need to get my plan straight.

My long term goal is to build this into a supersized, 3 row, version of a K-5 tubed crawler, but thats probably a couple of years down the road unless my ex wife kicks the bucket or I hit the lotto.

Any advice you guys have is appreciated. I need an inexpensivee way to fix this right.

If you are cutting it up, ill sell you a custom k5cage that was built for a rig I may not finish. I have $1,800.00 in it. I'll sell it to you for $1,000.00. Look at "bi polar mistress" thread page 3. It's sitting on my trailer right now going nowhere. You can easily add to it. It is all 1.75 dom.

Update... After 1 1/2 hrs of gentle persuasion with a prybar and a couple of hammers I've gotten the doors opened. I think that the DIY doors will work great for a first step to where I want to be, but at ~ $700 for front and rear sets I feel like I can buy either a or a bender and be that much closer to being set up to do the whole thing... The bi-polar mistress cage looks great too, but I still have to get a to stretch it to 4 door so I'm kinda in the same place with that one...

I was also thinking about just building a double hoop to replace the pillars and support the roof and just remove the factory one and run it without doors for a while (maybe just rig up a net of some kind).

I was just going to hav the muffler shop bend tubing that I take him, and maybe put a couple of tacks on to hold it until I can find weling machine to finish it myself. The owner is a friend of mine and a pretty good QAI.

JD2 bender without air hydraulic ram is $299. Buy one of those and a 1.75 die and get to bending. I bet someone around you will let you use their .

The bender at the muffler shop isn't for bending tubing. Its for bending tail pipe metal.
It puts a kink in the bend. Which is a weak point.
Just find you a dyi cevy cab cage kit. And some tub doors.
