anatram just gettin started
Back at it again

Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I'm out of the office and with out anyone looking over my shoulder, I now have the oppurtunity to formally introduce myself.

My name is Mike and I am an addict, I Love mud, rocks, dirt, water, heavy duty axels, transfer cases, and engines with high horspower to weight ratios. I'm addicted to fabrication, the smell of flux core burning in the middle of the night makes me drool. I have spent many nights tooling away in the driveway, with no real concern for mosquitos, smashed fingers, or tomorrows next production meeting. Off road endeavors control my life, I eat sleep and breath playing in the dirt. I's a viscious cycle, I work more so I can buy more parts, so I can take it off road, to break it, so I'll work more to but more parts, in hopes it won't break next time. Off roading is more addicting than a crack sandwich and an ice cold glass of Coka Cola.

I have played through the majority of the off road places here in the Houston area. I used to like Fuqua before they turned it into a subdivision. I've played in Spring Creek, and I've spent a good deal of time out at Old 90.

I am a Mechanical Supervisor for an oil drilling company. I see many things through out my day in terms of design and general utilitarian function that it amazes me.

I hardly get to chance to wheel anymore. I had a 1972 Chevrolet, Blazer, It was suppended with 6 inches of lift and rode on 37 inch super swamper boggers. I had put a fortune into this truck, I had replaced the axles with a complete 3/4 ton combination from a 78. It had a turbo 350 trans, 205 transfercase, and a mild small block with fuel injection. I did the majority of the work myself other than setting the fuel injection parameters. I ceramic coated the headers, and ran dual exhaust with 3 inch pipe and 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers. I drove this beast occasionally to and from work. 2 weeks after my son was born I was laid off and I had to sell her.

I currently travel around the world, I have been to Kazakhstan, Veneszuella, Nigeria, Papau New Guinea, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Mexico. I spend alot of time in South America. They have vehicles down there that I would love to Import here and fix up, but because of EPA regulations and such it is nearly impossible.

I am currently in the process of looking for a new project, I was thinking of a small block powered Jeep, or maybe Toyota. I have no prejudice against any specific brand, but I want something different. I don't know if this is admissable but I have seen something I would like to build, it is called a Brute, and it's made by American Expedition Vehicles, www,aev-conversions.com."I think this is the website". I want to take 2 jeep bodies and make this, similair to the old CJ8.

I have decent knowledge in mechanics, and I'm primarily self taught.

I live in Deer Park and try to play as mush as possible.

If anyone here has any unfinished projects they want to part with let me know, I'm not looking for anything already completed, I enjoy doing the work myself.

Jeeps are for girls
And guys that wish they were girls.....

Automatic transmissions are gay.

Flipped up tow mirrors are the sagging pants of the truck world.
