hey everyone.
finally found a good local forum it looks like
i recently picked up a new (to me...) 1990 K5 blazer.
i just put it past 200k miles.
the reason i bought this truck is because i spun a rod bearing in my daily driver. heads/cam 2006 charger R/T. it was running 12.4x @ 114 in the 1/4.
but i have come to the realization that having a toy for a daily driver is not the best idea.
im a newbie with offroad stuff, so ill have lots of stupid questions. but im pretty mechanically inclined (just pulled the engine out of my charger). so ill learn quick
so i picked up this truck (always had a love for K5's) to become my daily so i can play with my toy more.
i have a friend with a jeep, and i plan to do some light offroading. but building this baby into a reliable and comfortable daily will be my first goal.
needs paint, but not too bad.
needs the interior freshened up.
but all the important stuff works for the most part.
the rear 10-bolt is giving me fits and im trying to buy it some time before i source a 14bff (been doing some research! )
the 35's the previous owner put on along with the tall stock gears have eaten it up.
heres the only pic i have... not the best
(my K5, my brothers late model tahoe, and my charger are pictured...)
you can see the shortblock i pulled and the longblock going in
adios
