Hello. Moving To TX

Hello I am moving to TX this summer and am looking forward to meeting some people to go wheelin with. I currently reside in SO CAL and do wheelin at least once a month. I like rocks, trails, and some sand. I have a 1989 Dodge Ramcharger and a 1994 Suzuki Samurai. The Samurai is my wheelin rig and the Ramcharger is a Tow Rig. My Samurai is slightly modified with Coils at all four wheels, 5.14:1 t-case, 33" MT Baja Claws, and a few other mods. Any ways cant wait to get out there and do some wheelin.

I am not sure where exactly. It all depends on where I get the best job offer. I am looking at the Houston area and the Dallas area. I want to get into a small town and try and keep my daily commute to about a 30 minute drive one way. I am an automotive technician and am looking for a good reputable Dodge dealership to work for. If any of you have any connections I would appreciate the help.

Hey man welcome to Texas. I understand you're not a native Texan, but at least you got here as fast as you could.

New toyota plant opened up here in San Antonio. Maybe give them a try. Not a Dodge...like you wanted but it is a start.

Damned straight! San Antonio is where its at! Plus Cline Ranch is right outside of San Antonio, Katemcy is only a few hours away, and Satan's Playground is only a couple hours.

Ok I did some research and it seems Dallas is a little cheaper to live in according to rental prices I have found. I actually never really thought about San Antonio. Maybe i should research that. Anyways I appreciate all the responces. From what I have heard from a few people it seems Houston will probably be off my list. It seems most agree that Dallas is a better place. So how about San Antonio? Any of you working at a Dodge dealership? If so can any of you hook me up with a JOB. I have some recruiter saying he has a job for me in Dallas but has not given me any details yet. If I were to go to Houston I have a Dealership that I contacted that told me to look them up when I get there and I should get a position with them. Keep in mind that I am moving my family out there and we have absolutely no family out there. So as much help as I can get would be greatly appreciated.

True i am not Native Texan but I have been thinking of going there for a long time. Just a brief overview of myself for all of you. I was born in VA a military brat.(USMC) Moved from there to 29 Palms, CA when I was to young to remember. From there went to Plummerville, AR. Lived there for 5 years. When in the 7th grade moved to Norwalk, CA. I Joined the USMC out of Norwalk in 1992 and was sent to Okiniawa for a year. Then I was sent to Jacksonville, NC. Lived there for 4 years and got orders to 29 Palms. I got out of the USMC in 1999 and stayed in the desert of CA untill now when I have decided that it is time to get out of here. So I really do not think of my self as a Native of anywhere and have decided that I am ready to settle down. Oh well I think that is enough about me for now.

San Antonio is in a unique location. Near the hill country and not too far from the coast, but far enough from the hurricanes. Just to the east starts the pine country and muddy stuff. To the west it gets kinda desert like.
