yeppers you can pick up a k5 or gmc jimmy for that price and it will have power, and cheap and easy to fix up. NOT THAT SAMMIES DONT WHEEL GOOD. I just like to be able to give it some gas and actually go somewhere sometimes. =0) Welcome to texas4x4

I would pass it up. I think a 85 Toyota 4x4/4runner with a 22RE can be had between 1600-2000
Which I feel is way cheaper to build up and wheel then any Chevy or Zuki.
Seems a 1979 Toyota just sold on the For sale thread for $900. Great buy.
Keep looking. I got mine for $700 Running.

Welcome to the site.

As others have already said get an older late 70's or 80's model chevy, dodge, or god forbid a ford. You will thank us later.

Parts for them are easy to be had and readily available at any parts store. Plus they are cheap to fix up and are strong.

With one of those metric jap box's you will do nothing but cuss every time you have to work on it, or find parts for it.

but again, your getting a small package with NO POWER.
.

i'm sorry man but nothing is cheaper then building a chevy man. 350ci are a dime a dozen, stock springs flex, stock dana 60's, PEOPLE just go to chevy stuff at the end of everything. Why not just start with a chevy.

ok ok ill stop talkin junk. To me the best rigs are a jeep, toyota or sami, With a chevy drivetrain. Thats the ticket. .

I say do some homework and search what it cost to build each make and model. IF your happy with the zuk by all means go for it.
But I have to disagree with the statement above. It's cheaper to build a Toyota then a Chevy. Hands down. IMHO

im lookin at two things gas consumption and off road ability. i have a 4runner and i dont like it. its not a solid axle and it has no flex. i go smaller i use less gas and have a solid axle wich should get me a little more flex. thats how im looking at it. like i said it has to be a daily driver to and a chevy dodge ford all have v8s not as good on gas as a 4cyl.

I have seen some fairly stock Sami's go through some crazy places. Too small for my fat ***** though.
