Howdy from Houston

I've been reading on the website for a couple of days and figured I would register and post up. I've been out of the 4x4 game for a while and I'm ready to get back in it. The last toy I had was an 05 Rubicon, but I'm saving my pennies to build up an old Scout or Bronco. It may be a while before the pennies add up, but when they do it will be a fun family vehicle to play in.

I'm sure eventually I'll have a ton of questions. Any help you guys could give me is appreciated in advance. I'll be paying close attention to the classifieds looking for a cheap project

just buy a chevy, more then likey your gonna be putting chevy stuff under it. =0)~
naaaa in all realness a k5 or k20 or 30 perferable whould be the winning ticket because they k20 and 30 come with one ton axles areadly. k30 truggie flate bed would be killer.

in cool factor a bronco would be killer they always look so bad azzzz man. And they are smaller and wheel awesome because of it.

Only other reason i use a k5 cuz of the family and the back seat. =0)

welcome to the site man.

Howdy

Chevy/GMC K30 would be the best bet to start with in my opinion. Read up, figure out what appeals to you and have at it. With all the differing opinions you will get on this site, just always remember that you are the one that will have to wheel/wrench on it.

Thanks for the good info already! I will definitely look into the Chevys. It will be pretty stripped down for sure. I already know I'll be pulling the doors off, popping the top & ditching tailgates pretty quick. I've got a lot to learn so I'm making sure I get all of my research done right off the bat before I get started
