Howdy People, Newbie here bringing videos and pictures.

Howdy people, my name is Caleb, and I live in Cypress, I am originally from South Texas and still wheel there when I can. I have a 87 Zuk, with 3 inch bonz shakles and 2 inches of body lift, custom 6 point cage done by www.ceoffroad.com . Custom front and back bumpers, and I am running 32X11.50 Mud kings, I use it for a DD but wheel it hard when I get a chance. I look forward to getting to know you guys and hope I can impart any thing I have learned or know to you.

Caleb

Pictures and video here.

Newbie here

Thank youguys, I feel welcome. I used to be a member of the Tx4x4.org list and got fed up with them telling me that my crazy Ideas would never work so I left that list. I hope to learn from you guys cause I have some really weird ideas about stuff. I used to do some engineering design work while I was in school and I called my little group of guys Evil Genius Eng. we built a few weird vehicles and stuff but the ideas are the root of all my problems they are so far fetched normals dont get them oh well enough rambling. Glad to be here.

Welcome to the site. Also used TX4WD.org but got tired of all the " your ideas suck and I'm better then you" from alot of the guys . Most of them were cool but not all of them were. You'll enjoy this site. It's a good group of people. Just dropped of some wheels at CEOFFROAD today to have re-centered.

Welcome. I think we need to hear some of these ideas. As long as they don't suck of course.

Yea Mark did my cage and welded my rear, I think it isnt welded anymore, I got up on dirt pile one day after a week of hard wheeling, and when I went to go up it only one tire would spin in the back. Does that mean that I'm not welded anymore. What do you think I should do, pull it and have him weld it again, or just get a new third and drop in a lockrite locker, I am in need of input.

If it were me I would pull the axle on the side that would not spin first. You could find a broken axle. If not then I would put a lockrite it it since you said it was a dd.

You asked for it

"Welcome. I think we need to hear some of these ideas. As long as they don't suck of course" by 87zuk.

Since I cant figure out how to post them I will put them on my putfile site.

www.putfile.com/warpig

So here it is find picture number one and take the front axle and get another one, build a custom frame that would allow you to basically flex the axle to were the side walls of the tires were on the ground, then use a hydrualic motor direct drive to each of the axles and mount the picture number 2 into the center of the vehicle to balance it out. Then use a custom made pneumatic system to force flex the axles. Its a dream but eventually it will be a reality when I get some time and money.

Caleb
Enjoy

Wouldnt a broken axle make grinding noises and such, I have driven it on a weekly basis since I "think" I broke it? I thought breaking an axle would have some other kinda impact, I have heard no noises or anything.

most likely you would hear something especially right around the time it happened but not always. If your vehicle squeaks and rattles like mine sometimes it is hard to hear everything. It may have just shattered enough to where it has nothing to grind or make noise on. I had a broken axle in the front of mine and didn't realize until I was trying climb over something and that tire was not turning. Since you would have to pull the axles anyway you may as well pull the side that wouldn't spin first. You might find the problem.

I guess what I'll do when I get home is put it up on jackstands and see which side is not spinning or what the deal is. I need to go through and check all my stuff I dont think my hubs are engaging in the front. So I need to test all that stuff.

Like I said I'll check when I get home. Being that I wont be back till the 15th. Then I have to move all my shop stuff to the new house. And then organize it so I can find all my crap that has been in storage for a year. Then I think I'll do it before I go to work again. On the 5th of Sept.
