Smile Howdy from Whitewright

Hi yall -- I am new to wheelin' - went to Gilmer over Memorial Day weekend and got hooked on this stuff -- now I see why my boyfriend is so addicted ! This stuff is great !! I am trying to learn all I can about this sport. We curently have a 98 Tacoma (daily driver) with very little done to it, but it was keeping up with the boys at Gilmer that were locked. We are in the process of building an 84 ext. cab (that is where the name comes from) -- right now it is in the garage awaiting more $'s and time. A few things about it -- 22r engine with a 20r head and we are planning to run it on propane, 63" chevy leaf springs with a buggy leaf system in the rear, 4:10 gears, Marlin Crawler, G52 tranny, 8" straight axle in front and 32" tires on it. We still have alot of work to do on it -- mainly get it running !!! So yall please bear with me I might ask some really stupid questions -- but like I said I am trying to learn -- One day I want to build me a rig so I can drive too.

No Pics

Sorry all -- until we get our "Toy" on the trails we have made an agreement not to spend one extra $ on anything -- that even means no shopping for me - unless it is on the "Toy", so I can not get a Subscription to be able to post pics for now. I do have pics on www.toyotatrailriders.com and as soon as we are finished or closed to being finished I will be posting pics for sure !!! But I am glad that I can chat, learn new stuff, meet new people, get ideas and help for now -- Thanks

Welcome to the board. As far as pics go, you can also email them to a blue star member and we can post them for you.

Thanks for that info also. I worked on getting our build-up pics on photobucket.com last night. We are doing a frame up restoration and this is how far we are -- still alot of work. I will try this weekend to get some of when we went to Gilmer - I got some great shots of some of the guys that were there. I am not sure how to input the link but I think this is right I guess we will see...http://s210.photobucket.com/albums/bb158/84ToyLady/

Hi Slideaction-- I was born and raised in Houston - all over Houston actually !! The hurricane moved me up here north of Dallas - no complaints though. I go to Houston every 2 weeks. Hey I was told there is a place to wheel there - is that true? And what do you mean I need more stuff??
