K5 Newbie Here.

Hello, Bruce here. I'm new on this site, and new to the 4x4 K5 scene as well. Back in June 2012, I got ahold of my first 4x4. A red K5 1978. Bone stock. I'm changing that of course. So far, have added 3" of lift. Going to add one more inch and stop at four for a while. I keep it in the garage. Any higher than 4" won't fit into the garage. Maybe next year, I'll go up higher.

Check out the spare tire mount I made. This thing is beef!

I wanted more room in the cargo area is why I relocated the spare tire.

Drove it in. My front springs are almost perfectly flat.

Here's an older pic. It will fit with fully aired up tires. Open the door all the way.

Would suggest not a true 4" lift.

I must have a doll house garage, the K5 barely fit stock on 32's..

..it's cool though, makes me feel big

@--09Z71, I like that stance. Looks good.

I have been out to B'Port to look around really. Not wheeling yet unfortunately. I still need to do some front ent work before that. I do drive the K5 often however.

Thanks for the comments.

Bridgeport is a good time, I was unimpressed with Tolar. But it all depends on what wheeling style you have. I would consider taking my son to Tolar to get him in the drivers seat, but in all honesty, Bridgeport is closer, so that's where he will learn, well, there or Amarillo.

I had to replace my fuel lines back at the tank. Fuel drip on the return line. Small drip.

Yep, behind the bumper I found the two bolts that hold the fuel tank straps up. I painted the bumper body filler metal piece and reciever hitch before putting it back together too.

P.O. put the "TX SECEDE" sticker on. Although sometimes that don't sound too bad.
