Living the dream....with the help of my son.

Hello all, Bought my son (me) this 84 Jimmy last November for his 16th Bday (Bday was not till March). We have done very little since the purchase. Tune-up, fluids, exhaust, ect.. My son has wrecked it twice....make that three times as of tonight. He went wheeling and pushed the right front bumper and quarter so door opens with a pop. You might ask why is he still driving? He has a job and will spend HIS money on body repair before any mods are done. Life lessons, got to love it! The Jimmy has a newer 350 carb. with serp. belt and A/C. 350 trans. 31" tires. How do I post pics? I am all ears and want to hear your suggestions on the built moving forward.

List of things to do:
New carb, has quadrajet 4b
Lift
Wheels/tires...35" max
Interior, Newer seats, carpet, dash....

I have a master plan....Get the mods done while he lives at home...Money will flow out a little easier if I say its for the sons car....He will go off to college the year after next....The Jimmy will not go with him, it will be MINE.

Master Master Plan....sell it down the road and buy a 1972 K5 or Jimmy....

PS... I grew up in Winter Park Colorado and wheeled in all thru high school...Willy's jeep. Been along time ago and want to start again.

Tim

I disagree. If your children want to do something that you can do with them do it as often as you can. Spend as much time with them as you can. Teach them the safe way to wheel. If you don't they will find someone else to spend time with and who knows who that will be and what influence they will have on your kids. IMO.

WELCOME TO THE FORUM

Do you have a photo bucket accout? Thats what ya need to post pics.
Send me your pic I'll post it for ya for now.

What carb are you going to put on it?
The quad will work as good if not better than any other carb out there.

With Mike there, if your kid wants to do what most of us love doing, then what more can you ask for?? I would put my daughter in a big 4wd truck before any kind of car or JEEP!!! I know the ole lifted Chevy will keep her from texting, while she has to have both hands on the wheel...LOL!!!

Thanks to all for the welcome. Thanks for the Photobucket help!

The carb....It has an Edelbrock manifold and was thinking of a 650 Edelbrock if I can't get the Quadrajet right.
