New in town

Hello folks,

Can't believe it took me so long to find this site. I moved to East Texas from San Angelo a year and a half ago and have been busy ever since. In San Angelo I was VP of the local club Concho 4Wheelers and judged the Cal Rocs Comps. in Katemcy a few times. Still finding my way around the Beaumont area, not many rocks around here and I really don't like the mud much. Mad a trip to Trees Ranch Offroad Park in August and miss West Texas a lot. Hope to meet new people and learn a lot here. Keep the rubber side down.

Welcome to town. You are right there aren't many rocks around here. What are the specs on your rig? Give me a call sometime, we'll hook up and have a or something.

Right now it's a work in progress (when is it not). My DD 2002 TJ rides on a 4inch and 1inch BL and 35 BFG Muds. My trail rig is a 1998 TJ with a salvage title on 35's, 4to1, front and rear lunchbox lockers and some "custom" body work . I'm fixing to really start building it, I borrowed a tube bender and want to buggy the rear end. Looking for a 60/14 bolt too. Shiloh Ridge looks cool and not too far away, I would like to try it some day. Any other close wheeling spots?

I do have a black TJ but it is the stock susp. with the exception of some 4inch coils and shocks (along with lots of cutting). I was at Trees the last weekend in August. Were you driving a YJ? Don't remember seeing a build one, I was there when those [email protected]$$ mogs where down from Dallas. I don't live in San Angelo anymore (I miss the wheeling) but from time to time I like to travel. Just have to make sure I can afford the trip. Trees cost me over $350 in deisel there and back.

I've got a 99 TJ with a few mods. The last time we were at tree's was for memorial day 2006. Like I said earlier give me a buzz sometime.

Yes, I had the Blue YJ (1-ton). Good luck with your project, sounds like it's going to be a good one. Just keep looking on this forum under "events and runs".

Man I am trying to remember but I don't recall a YJ there. Did you wheel on Satuday? Anyways, I have wheeled Trees quite a few times and although I have worked the CalRocs events in Katemcy a few times I have never wheeled there, even though I used to live like an hour away. I'll be working on this jeep a while but I'm trying to keep it wheelable as much as possible.
zx11kllr is there anywhere to wheel trail type stuff close to here?

You can drive on the beach from Sabine Pass to Crystal Beach. It is 20 miles of no man's land.
