newb from Louisiana

So i signed up almost a year ago and never made any post.
I am from Louisiana, all we really have is mud and light trails. I know our neighbors in Texas have it all though... By the way Texans and Cajuns party hard. Fan of wheeling mud, trails and want to get into some rocks.

I have wheeled shiloh ridge and I really want to Krocks.

my rig is a 97 tahoe. it currently has a 6inch superlift and 3inch body. It has 4.88 gears in the front diff and a 14ff in the rear loaded with 4.88s and a detroit. it also has machined 6 lug hubs.

Future plans include a Dana 60 with 42s and hydro assist along with other stuff that will come down the road.

here are a few pics to share.

Welcome to the site bro. Looks like you wheel that IFS pretty hard. How does it hold up?

knock on wood I havnt broke anything yet..

I am talkin to some friends about us going to Krocks on June12th... That would be the hardest the IFS has seen... a guy I know from another forum has wheeled Moab and Hollister with the same setup as me and didnt break anything... I just have to be smart about front wheel hop. I am debating whether or not to weld the spiders in the front diff But I have a feeling that it would crack the housing.. I still may do it just for fun.

You should Barnwell Mt in Gilmer, TX. It is a step up from Alto but not as bad as K-Rocks. It has lots of trails that are all rated.

yea.. Barnwell is going to be on the list next also...

this new krocks looks to be more hardcore than the first one... some of my friends went to the first one and said that I could wheel with the ifs there but not take the hard lines..

the new one might be tough

Mmmmmmm....Louisiana Gumbo! I need to try some of that! How far from the Texas border are you? I've heard that your gumbo is real snotty and isn't easy to get through. If you have more pics of your rig, which looks great, in the mud, please post them up. Welcome to Texas4x4!

i wuldnt wield the front for fun, unless you have manuel (cant spell summer school king) lockin hubs. and just run one lock and both for striaght or unless you have too, i'll keep her open and just keep light on that skinny pedal tell you do a SAS. there not that hard, there just time consuming but will cost as much or less then repairng a IFS system haha not to mention 38's christ man you got an angel looking after that front end, haha
