Howdy...

thought I'd intro myself to the other Lubbock users...

I drive an 84 Suburban k10, 32" maxxis tires, big front end guard, warn locking hubs, bored smallblock, flowmasters, and lotsa happy meal crumbs...

just getting into the "budget building." I've been planning and saving for 3 years now and still havn't gotten anything done, so now I'm going cheap. If you guys have spare parts, I've got tools and time... holler if ya need a hand, I'm up for the experience.

sounds good...

I'm pushing 30 too dang fast for my own good. At the moment I'm semi-retired. Used to manage the tool corral at Sutherlands, but decided to jump ship before they left town.

Right now, I'm just working on projects and helping people out as much as I can. I finished my boat, a 1978 Glastron walk-thru early in the summer. it has been sitting for over 14 years when I picked up the pieces and got her lake-ready again. I've got a 1956 English panel I'd like to get on the road before next march, and always customizing my trailer or my truck.

I'm trying to clean out my backyard and find the pieces to some other projects and get them finished up as well. For the most part I'm just relaxing and enjoying my kids and my home, and worrying about how to pay the bills later.

And you guys? What do you do?

prolly so...

seems I've been out there (lowe's) way too much lately... three times today as a matter of fact...

anyhow, yeah, it's that old 80's "I'm still a Cowboy's Fan!!! Yay me!!! And I bought the truck cuz it matched the uniforms!!!" Blue/Grey...

If I ever have the time and some extra masking tape it's going Rust-o-leum black... we just spent $3500 on getting the hail damage off the Element, so I'll be darned if I'm gonna waste more than $30 on paint for the chevy...

Hey---while I'm thinkin about it---anybody here with a toy truck out on 68th behind Hobby Lobby? I stopped a guy a few weeks back with a pretty nice rig out that way, just wondering if he was participating here or not...

i hear that. i have probly spent about 10k there in the past 3 years.

save the $30 intill the paint starts falling off. i just used american tradition paint as a temp on the bare metal. "after the sheetmetal " i didnt have time or cash to do a good paint job but it works and you can buy it by the gallon $20 but peals easy cant leave mud on it long. anyone know where to get some good auto paint for cheap?

good auto paint for cheap? rustoleum! if you prep you won't have any problems, the saying holds true that 90% of a paint job is in the prep

Rustoleum rocks...

it's kinda a pain to work with cuz it stays tacky for quite a while... I bought my trailer back in march, and my wife is extremely anal about me scratching it, so I bought her 3 spray cans of black gloss and she goes around hitting the scratched spots darn near everytime I bring it to the house...

repainted my front grillguard with it and it's held up pretty good... if I could only stretch a can of primer as far as I can a paint we'd be doing good.

I got my "fakey" phantom grille put in tonight with bumper jumpers... gonna pull it out tomorrow and start paintin again... lol
