I can help ya scope out places if need be. How much of your stuff you planning on bringing? How many acres you need? You can always add bathrooms later.

I too have daughters this age & no way would I want my girls raised in smaller schools (farm boys & such),then have to deal with the change of going to a large city high-school(full of punk kids & gangsters).

i know, but it seems i really have no choice. i have talked to my girls about the situation, and they both agree, we have to move.

What kinda girls are they? What are their interests?

Academically, Lubbock High is touted as superior. Very strong math/science/college-prep programs. Extremely diverse and artsy. Close to Tech campus, so lots of the college profs. kids attend here. None of them know how to catch a football though.

Socially, the place to be is Coronado. Very girly girls and the "my daddy's richer than your daddy" types. The boys are boys. Drive fast cars and play ball. Has a negative reputation for drugs, however it's not any worse than the others. Still a good school, just more uppity with some diversity.

Monterey is extremely centrally located. Decent all around school. Good football program, middle of the road economically, and quality academics. Big focus here was FFA at one time, but it's kinda spread to Coronado as well. Kids that drive will likely be involved in at least one accident around the school due to high traffic and teenage vigor.

Estacado is on "the wrong side" of town. However, they have a great pre-med program. Most of the kids tend to go to technical schools, or drop out. Way outta the way of anything else useful in the town, unless you need to live close to the airport.

Frenship ISD (Wolffarth and extreme west Lubbock) are highly rated. Strong academics, strong athletics, and a popular place for people to get their kids "out of the city". Lubbock-Cooper ISD is rapidly becoming the same way, but it's more of a "country" school. Roosevelt ISD hits the kids around the Buffalo Lake/Ransom Canyon areas, as well as extreme east Lubbock. It's a place to get an education, but not anything to write home about.

As far as living, you can have pretty much anything you want. From a crappy trailer with some acreage, to high dollar gated trailer communities. Run down central housing on up to multi-million dollar homes. Some would choose a place to live based on the "convenience" to their work or school of choice, but in reality you can drive anywhere in Lubbock in under 15 minutes. If you like the look of the neighborhood and the house, you can deal with the minimal commutes.

Crosbyton highschool is pretty good. I have family in both Crosbyton and Ralls. Ralls, some parts are on the border of ghetto looking, but are some nice places in the area. Crosbyton is a nice small town.

My family owns a large farm In Canyon Valley. Im sure if you got any questions i can get the info on this area as i got alot of family in Ralls and Crosbyton Highschools.
