K5 Roll Cage Ideas

Anyone use a pre-bent kit for their K5? The better half has requested I add in a cage before going out in the new to me beater K5.

Also, if I were to buy a cage, anyone have places in Austin you can recommend to do the work? Or does anyone have shop space they could lend me? I have my own MIG, tools, etc.

Thanks,
Jon D.

I have been thinking about running the Jegster 10pt. cage from Jegs. It only protects the driver area and the not the rear passengers, but I am not planning on running with passengers in the rear.

Have you found any pics with it installed? Down the road I can fabricate my own tubes to protect the passenger area, but right now I don't have the space to do it.

I have looked around, but I have not found any pics. For the price, I dont think you can beat it. The cage is also NHRA certified, which I think is pretty good considering none of us are going to be going 200+mph.

I've been looking into this for my K5 also. But I think I've talked myself into an exo. I'm going to attempt to do it myself and see how it goes. Good luck

That is exactly what I want. I just need protection for the front passengers. Is that the 10 point?

BIGJIMMYSROCK,

Keep us posted if you decide to sell it. RamRock, I've tried to get in touch with JK customs as well. Is the phone number on their website correct?

Thanks,
Jon D.

Maybe a slight role, but I will try and avoid any tumbling.

I started with the S&W 6pt. cage kit & have added as needed. Its a good kit that includes all the basic stuff you need. I wished i had gone with the 10pt kit at the time, but at this point i dont think it would have made a differance .
