OFFICIAL RULES
This will be a King of the Canadian, Tough truck challenge on february 28th, 2010. The idea is to get a taste of every type of obstacle that the area has to offer in one event. And find the most well rounded drivers/builders around.
CLASSES ARE AS FOLLOWS
TRUCKS-STOCK: Any FACTORY bodied rig that is running STOCK STYLE suspension and motor. BOLT ON accessories ONLY. No power adders (nitrous or aftermarket blowers). Factory running gear up to 1 tons will be allowed. Fender cutting for tire clearance is ok.
Within stock trucks- there will be 2 classes by tire size. Up to 36, and 37 and up
TRUCKS-MODIFIED: Rigs with MAJOR suspension/axle type changes, MAJOR motor swaps, power adders, and you know--Stuff that aint stock. Up to 44 inch tire
These rigs should still have somewhat of a truck body left on them and a truck frame.
Within modified trucks- there will be 2 classes by tire size. Up to 37, and 38 to 44
General idea about motors and classes. Old Toyota truck with newer Toyota motor- this guy can run stock. Toyota truck with Chevy V8-this guy is running modified.
BUGGIES: all others. these are usually the tube chassis rigs that started as some axles and a motor on a stand in the shop, and then you filled in the blanks with some cage pipe. You know who you are.
Sometimes there is a fine line between buggy and truggy etc.. If this becomes an issue, a driver vote will determine the class.
Rig classification will be determined before you pay.
Helmets and seatbelts will be mandatory.
This will be a TIMED event, with no point/cone system. There will be a marked course. Leave the course, your race is over.
The course will be in the same general area as the event last year. It will be on the west side of the freeway near the backside of ‘widowmaker’ if you are new to the area, just head west toward the train bridge and you will find us.
This will NOT be the same RACE as last year. It will be longer, will cover more obstacles, and will have an all out section across the sand. Yup, that means you will have to cross the river. The exact map of the area will not be released until the morning of the race.
Each vehicle can have a navigator/spotter. HOWEVER- IF THE SPOTTER GETS OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE MUST BE AT A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS FOR SAFETY. JUMPING OUT WHILE MOVING WILL GET YOU DISQUALIFIED.
That being said, strap pulling, rock stacking, winching is all allowed, anything goes as long as you are not intentionally making the course harder for the next driver or being blatantly unsafe.
NO ALCOHOL, ALL LOOSE ITEMS MUST BE TIED DOWN OR REMOVED BEFORE RACING, NO WINERS!!
Entry fees will be $20.00 per rig, with 100% of entry fees going to cash payout to 1st and 2nd place in each class. 1st 2nd and 3rd places will receive whatever trophies and swag that I can get my hands on.
Signup/setup will be from 7-10am.
Drivers meeting @ 1015
Racing will start @ 1100.
Let's keep it simple, and most of all, HAVE FUN!
Any questions??? TO BAD!
