I have a stock 350 fuelie in my 1996 truck right now. My buddies got a 383 stroker that is pushing about 500 hp that he wants to sell. My problem is that it is carburated. My question is that will the stock 350 fuel injection system, such as the intake manifold and everything else bolt onto the 383 without much modification. I know I would have to upgrade the fuel system, but would it be a pretty basic swap. Any info would help.
That is not a basic swap....and no it will not just bolt up (as far as intake and stuff goes). You are gonna run into problems with the computer I guarantee it. Count on a chip burn for sure.
besides a chip burn, wat else would b necessary to swap it in. y wouldnt the intake meanifold bolt up? i no these sound lik dumb questions but i am clueless also.
Stroke The Blazer.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
find another car/truck to put the 383 into, stock vortec stuff wont work on a highly modifed 383. i think that the blocks are different , you would have to leave a carb on it to make it work and then it would never pass inspection.

I dont know about supporting 500hp, but I know for a fact that it will atleast run a 400hp 350. Granted you would obviously have to do some modifications to make it work.
i went and looked at the engine and it is a beauty. i decided that its not for me. i want fuel injection, and it would cost to much to cross it over. but that wouldve been one badass engine in the blazer
