A shovel, a jack, an some wood that allways seems to be there usually will take care of things if you put the effort. Those penche eye pokers would not get a dime from me. O ya, an a little comon sense not to park to close where the sand is real moist.

Gee, the Park Service pays $1,300 per tow instead of equipping each of their trucks with a $900 winch? Government thinking at its finest!

Park officials try to bypass the Kleberg County rotation list by calling wreckers directly when their own vehicles are stuck. Park Maintenance Supervisor Glenda Hammond sometimes spends hours on the phone haggling with wreckers but usually has difficulty negotiating below $1,300.

"National Park Service rangers used to free stuck vehicles, but that policy changed after a bumper was ripped off a car whose owner threatened to sue."

These are the types of people that ruin it for everyone else..................

That's about right for getting pulled out down there. It's absolutely ridiculous. If I had seen him I would have pulled him out for free like I've done for plenty of other people. I agree with the comment on shovel, jack, and boards.
