383 Stroker

My dad is having technical difficulties posting this motor and asked for some help. Please call him on his cell at 817-318-9339 or at home at 817-282-5969 and leave a message with your contact info or email him at [email protected]. You could also respond to this ad and I will get him your info. Everything is located in Hurst (mid-cities area).

383 Stroker motor - complete with dual timing chain, heads, intake, flywheel, harmonic balance from true 400, oil pan, true 400 crank, Comp Cams 400 camshaft with aggressive lope, 4 bolt main. Almost 100% complete motor - lacking a carburetor and distributor.

We ran this motor in our 78 K5 buggy. Number 8 cylinder had a wrong sized spark plug put in it and the top of the piston hit the tip of the spark plug. We were in the middle of MegaRun 2005 and to finish the event, pull the push rods from number 8 and drove on 7 cylinders the rest of the event. Even with 7 cylinders it was still plenty strong. We came back from the event and got an estimate to rebuild the entire Stroker for less than $500 at a shop but found a better deal on a Vortec 350 fuel injected 5.7L and installed that motor. I'm sure you could do this cheaper yourself if you have the mechanic skills and tools. This is a great, almost fully complete motor that ran exceptional when in was in its prime and still good with only 7 cylinders. Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks.

$550

So Have you guys torn the engine down?

Pics of that? You can email them if you want [email protected]

Do you know for sure what the exact problem is?

Yes, #8 cylinder piston needs to be repaired. I don't have pictures of the motor torn down, we pulled the motor for the new Vortec. If you want to know more feel free to give my dad a call. he can be reached on his cell the easiest.

don1903 - I dont have any PM's from you? hit me up if you get a chance or feel free to give my dad a shout. thanks.

Make me a decent offer. I really think this would make someone an great motor with little cost to repair it.

I called your dad and talked to him a few weeks ago and he said you had some pics. I am very interested. Mine appears to be very hard to crank. I just dont know when I can get there to get it.
Thanks.
