'97 F-350 Dually 2wd

I'll make this short and sweet. It's a 97 1 ton 7.3 Turbo Diesel, 5spd with 4.10's. Mileage is 133,800. I average 18mpg on the hwy empty and 16+ in town. Loaded with roughly 8K lbs on the trailer, I average 15mpg. I removed the stock air box and replaced it with an open cone filter, removed the cat and muffler and replaced with 4" pipe. The interior is clean with minor wear and tear. The body is very straight with minor door dings. It has a gooseneck hitch, class V bumper/hitch and rear AirLift air bags. It has brand new Yokohama E rated 60K mile tires on the front and a fresh alignment, but the rears are getting thin. When I had it aligned, I had all the bushings checked for wear and they all are in great shape. It has PW/PL/Tilt/Cruise/AC. The A/C blows ice cold and it has not needed a charge since I've owned it. The tool box does not go with the truck unless you want to pay extra. The reason I am selling is because I want a brand new 1 ton Dodge, but can't decide if I want 4wd single wheel or dual and possibly the Mega Cab. Link to pics below. Asking $10K I'm headed to the dealer this week and see if I can find something I want. I will either sell the truck outright or trade it in, just depends on what they offer for trade. Questions or want to see it? Feel free to call me 214-674-0586.

Hey, heads up...don't take this the wrong way, but don't be upset if they tell you your truck is only worth $4500... I am looking at trading in my 01 Excursion Limited toward a new dually, Ford, Chevy, or Dodge.. and they are not anywhere near what I want for it.. I even had one of them tell me $10k... It retails for $17-20.....where they get $10 I don't know...I was pretty ticked to say the least.. I am trying to sell it outright as we speak...

MotorheadRQ just gettin started
At this point in the game, retail book means nothing. Right, wrong or indifferent gas prices are driving vehicle sales. Look on ebay and see what they end up at. You can find a 2005 Ex LTD with the V-10 and 4x4 for under $30k with less than 20k miles. Diesels hold better, but then age gets them.

The mindset for the buying public is "what would my payments be on a new one?"

The book means nothing when you are trying to sell and everything when you are trying to buy.

Good luck to all!

Robert

No offense taken.

They offered $7K for trade, but wouldn't come down enough on the truck I wanted. I'm not in a position where I have to sell, or buy a new one, so we'll see what happens. I've bought/sold enough in my time and realize the dealer won't give much, but then again, I don't have much in this truck either.

Rastus, I'm not sure yet. The Blazer is still down waiting for the SM465/208 transplant. Between searching for a diesel flywheel, moving and many, many other projects, the blazer got put on hold this winter/spring. I sure would like to make the trip and will do my best. The Money Pit is real close to being ready and will be sporting even less sheet metal and full hydro steering.
