Questions about Clayton, Ok. Xmas Weekend

Was thinking about hauling my jeep up to the inlaws in antlers down the road from clayton. I have never driven any trails up there. I had a few questions.

Are all the trails hard and requiring f and r lockers with 37's or bigger?

Are some of the trails like 2 or 3 rating on a five scale, I"m running 35's with only a rear locker?

How do I get a map or directions to the trailhead, entrance and do I have to pay?

Anyone interested in showing me around up there christmas weekend?
not all day, maybe a half day run.

Thanks for the information. Mario in Fort Worth.

Not sure but I think my boyfriend wheeled his unlocked Taco with 35's in Antlers -- I will check with him tomorrow and let you know if that is where they wheeled when he went -- I do know it was somewhere around Robber's Cave -- where ever that is.

Thanks for the information, and the map. Once you enter the property are the trailheads marked for level of difficulty? If so do they use a five or ten scale?
If I'm going to the inlaws we could have some little ones with us and I don't want to scare them too bad. Also, is three stage on another part no longer open?

Three stage is no longer open.

If you have a Jeep on 35's and a rear locker go have fun. All the stuff in dark black is fun to drive with a Jeep built like yours. There are so other trails you can do also. Just remember all the signs are high up in the trees, also if you drive down something you don't like turn around. Watch the big boys trash their rigs.

The first number 11 on the map is called Fence Line. Run it and that road that goes back to Flag Pole Hill Road.

# 15- Walk in the Park- run it up to the top until you see the big ledge, turn around and come back down.

#10 8 Point- Nice drive in the woods.

#16 3-trail (I thought it was called Tree Trail)- anyway drive it up to the big rock face and turn around.

#19 Backside Loop- you should do OK

If you have a winch you can do lots of other trails also.
Hope this helps some, and like the said the main roads need 4x4 just to drive on them also.

I wouldnt go anywhere on Walk n the Park without front/rear lockers. It might not be very hard but gravity KILLS you on this trail. Even the easy parts are on one heck of a grade. I dont know that I would have done it if it would have been daylight and the Keytone box wasnt so empty.....LOL

Thanks again guys, this forum is great. I appreciate the information and helpful hints. I will have some family with me and I feel better already knowing that it's not all for 38's and up with FnR lockers. Awesome, looking forword to checking it out.
I will probably do some of the easier stuff just cause it's my first time out there. Mario

I will be headed home Monday and we will be headed to Clayton on Thursday morning for our annual Christams debauchery at the A&A. I have only been up there once and it was a blast. I will try to take a gander at the trail markings and see what it says, but I just took that map off of pbb and cleaned up the writing by typing everything in.

I wasn't saying anything to you. Mike Green and wife made the map and cut a lot of the trails in the park. I was just thinking out loud, most of the signs are 15 ft in the air.

I figured as much.

I bet the signs are so high so they don't get pulled down and thrown in a fire under a pot of Sudafed.

Well I went out there and didn'nt get to far into it. It was just me and my father in law and wasn't really planning on getting any body damage so we didnt' stay long. In fact, the trip got me thinking about some rails for protection, sliders or whatever they call them. I'll be back, that sure is some pretty country up there. Ended up still doing some exploring in the middle of nowwhere. Mario
