A crop of new Marine 2LTs today...

...including my son.

Justin Hatcher graduated from 10 week Marine OCS this morning and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Marines this afternoon at Marine Base Quantico.

After 6 years in the Marine Reserves and completion of his commitment (for college money), he decided to apply for OCS and active duty.

He gets about 3 weeks off, then reports back to Quantico for The Basic School (24 weeks I think).

I thought I was tough having survived Army OCS and Infantry Officer Basic. That was a damn vacation compared to what he just went through and is about to go through.
