I'm running leaf springs with tons, 5.38 gears and a doubler. I have learned to take it easy but axle wrap is a problem for me and it will be worse for you. Make plans to use a traction bar/ antiwrap bar or whatever.

How so? I'm sure some good searching over there would leave you with more than enough good info...just saying.

In a nut shell: Departure/approach angles aren't the greatest compared to links, lots of unsprung weight, and definitely have to address axle wrap. Hope that helps . Hopefully Donuts and Mitch and Ramrock chime in as they have more experience with rocks.

I posted on pirate and guys got in there just talking crap like I was and idiot... and told me to search
The only reason I posted was because I couldn't find what I was looking for. But yes there is a lot of good info on there site! Great site no lie, just some people on there

The truck will be mostly mudding, want it to still have some flex, so I'm trying to figure what I'm toing to do. I also thought about flipping the shackles to the front and solid mounting the springs on the back that way I can add the traction bars and they actually work right like this....

rocks

WHatever you do, you will have to do some kind of links on it. Whether you 3 link, 4 link or 1 link, you will need something. How tall are you planning to go with your rig and how tall a tire? I had 1 links on my rock crawler with rockwells but was running coil springs. My present rig has 4 links which I am changing up, with coil springs. You will definitely need links with leaf springs because your axles will want to wrap unless your spring are taking Vaigra.

That is my 2 cents worth. lol

You can ask mitch or monstercrawler who both had the pig. It had leafs in the front but, I cannot remember what was used for a torque arm.

There wasnt one. It had a slide shackle that really helped control axlewrap. It worked very well IMHO.

I ran rocks with v-treads for a while. Not real bad axle wrap with a good spring back, but I sheard off many center pins without traction bars.....

most of them know what they are talking about also, not hating just gets a little old sometimes. lol

Yeah im just wanting to not have any axle wrap... i have 6" lift springs up front(52" rears) i have the mounts dropped about 4" and the leafs will be bolted to the axle no blocks. i was thinking of just running a link from the center chunk to the front behind the bumper to minimize the axle wrap?
