Is it the price or just lack of demand?

Actually, if you test ran it and all the stuff from starter to carb goes with it, $1k is a really good deal for a "new" rebuilt motor. It costs me $700 for a premium longblock rebuild (I supply the core) then I have to add all the stuff to make it work... 9:1 compression would make it a good regular unleaded motor without having to put the expensive super unleaded in a 10:1. I run the "882" 1.94 compression heads on my stuff...(dirt track bombers) Good luck on your sale...

Can I still hear it run on the engine stand? I would be interested only if I can hear it run first. What kinda h.p. are you gestimating and do you have more specs on the motor?

Nah I'll pass. It might lope but that's it. If it had a lot done to the engine it would put out a lot more than that. I wanted around 500 hp or more.

Good luck finding 500 horses for $1000. That's fine tho, I understand.

What kind and size of tires are we talking about?

I'm open to trades, just have to suit my interests.

No don't get me wrong. I was hoping it was just one of those deals where you just needed some money. lol I know what you mean though. Hell the bottom end alone to produce 500 hp would cost you more than a grand. Atleast for forged anyway. You can buy others but it just doesn't hold up long enough. It's a good deal just not what I am needing.

How about tradin for some 37's or so TSL'S. 15" rim. New would be best, but seriously. Or even a stock single front 60. I've got extras if you do.

Thanx Brian. I tried throwing a good deal out there for someone to jump on. It was worth a try.

Well, if you want HP, call me. I can't do500hp for a grand, but I can do you an engine that will do 450hp and 400ft/lbs of torque all day long for that much. and have 11to1 compression, run on cheap pump gas.
it's all in the details. hell I will tell you how to do it if you want. but you got to start with a SBC400 block, and go from there, get some 305 small chamber heads.
Mikes engine is a deal, I don't know the guy who built it, or exactly what went into it. But even a stock rebuilt never installed engine should bring $800.
then again some guys idea of rebuilt and others are different.
Was it bored? how much? steel or cast crank? rods? fixed or floating pins? head chamber size? I think I seen lift and maybe duration posted, but what about lobe centerline and overlap? that is a huge factor for rockcrawlers.
got a distributor and carb on it? a midly built SBC with RV cam will make 300hp

Thanx for busting my balls there Brian. Those were the general specs given to me by Andy, the guy who built the motor. I am aware of one other specific detail of this motor. It's going into my truck soon and replacing the one you're getting unless you decide otherwise.
