D44 / D60 chevy front / rear

I have a dana 44 front end, w/ crossover steering complete w/ pitman arm and warn hubs. New brakes and 1 year old calipers also w/ 410 gears. 8 lug... I have the matching dana 60 rear w/ 410 gears, never looked at anything else, I think it's limited slip not locked. I also have a driveshaft that matchess that rearend up to a np208. Driveshaft is about 54 1/2 inches.

$450 for axles
$50 for driveshaft

These came out of my 1984 chevy K10 frame. About the u joints, the front is stocks size yoke that a driveshaft from any chevy truck will fit, and the rear u joint on the driveshaft fits to a dana 60 which is smaller than the u joint / yoke for the 14 bolt. I don't know if that's what you were looking for or not, but let me know if I can help.

Just to clarify, the D60 is a FF 8-lug, 1 ton rear? I've got a M1008 CUCV and the axles are not the stock military ones. Any info if the D44 and D60 would work on this CUCV, with the NP208, would be greatly appreciated.

Thnx

yes, these axles should be as simple as sliding them under, however it took a little persuading to get the springs to sit on the perches of the cucv axles that I replaced these 3/4 ton's with. I figure you will have the same problem but the opposite way meaning your perches will be maybe an inch off too narrow so either they could be moved outward or if you have tall springs just pull them out and tighten them up. I have the driveshaft for sale with those axles and your in luck because it will fit right under a m1008 w/ a np208 w/o changing anything at all. Let me know if you interested or if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. In all it sounds like you are doing exactly the opposite of what i did, i took the axles out of a m1008 and your putting these under one.

Sorry for all the questions, I'm a toyota guy, and not too familiar right now with FS Chevy's and CUCV's. I thought K10's (1/2 tons) had the 10bolt rears and the CUCV had the D60 (which is a 1ton) front. So you had both the D44/D60 on your K10, and they are considered 3/4 ton axles, right?

Thnx.

yes, to my understanding is this dana44 / dana 60 setup came in most 3/4 ton saburbans in the 80's. I also know that the rearend is painted army green which means they probably found it out from under some sort of army vehicle....

I don't believe GM used Dana60 rear axles, especially not in the 80's 3/4 tons. Those trucks got an 8-lug 10bolt front axle and a semi-float 9.5" corporate 14bolt rearend. This version of the 14bolt is weaker than a Dana60 or the Full-Floating version of the 14bolt

post some pics of them and it'll be easy to identify what you have

It's for sure a Dana 60, not a 14 bolt at all... Here's some pics...

Also, so is the 14 bolt FF the biggest / strongest chevy rearend you can get? Is there any way to notice that a 14 bolt is the smaller 9/5" ringgear? HOPE this helps.

oh yea, definitely a 60

Actually GM started making what I think they call the "11.50" rearend on newer trucks that has the 11.50" ring gear. Looks similar to the 14BFF. Someone that knows for sure may chime in
