Dana 70 for sale! near Austin

I just bought this axle about three weeks ago from underconstruction (Mike), here. Its a 70U with 35 spline shafts with stock gearing and drums. It has potential to be a real good axle, its in good shape, it's not even really rusted, still has black paint. I need to get it sold for how much I bought it. $200 Bucks.
It came off a dodge mid 80 s truck, I've been told anyway. I will put some pics here in a bit. Anyone interested in this?

Thanks, mike

This is a rear dana 70. I'm selling this because I found a 14 bolt with 456 gears in it already. Great axle for a great buy.
Stock gearing.

Hey buddy, what is the stock gearing in that one? Would it work well ( other than length :-) for my 78 CJ7? How far are you from Ft. Worth? Ever come up this way? I am interested, Thanks, Jeff

Very heavy & WIDE for a CJ. The 70 should be 65"-67". My wide track rear is 54", your narrow track is narrower than that. Lots of difference, but nothing newly located spring perches wouldn't fix. It would stick out WAY past your flares.

I dont really go to Ft Worth much, but I might be able to meet half way of something like that. I think the gearing is 410, but not sure.

I didn't mention that I have an LT1 350 in it that is pushing 340 HP at the rear wheel. I installed a Dana 44 and quickly snapped the pinion shaft. to much tork. What would you suggest? I am new to this. This is my first Jeep project and I will use it mainly as a daily driver. I just want the setup I choose to last. Thanks for the help. Jeff

Well the Dana 70 is a bit stronger then a 14 bolt, and you have better gearing options too. I guess its all up to how much do you want to modify. There is alot involved. Check out pirate4x4.com It has the most information out there.

Pretty bold statement. I don't know if it is or not, but a 14 FF is the definition of strong (and big and bulky, too). : )
